Ghanaian’s car found

Saturday, November 21 2009

POLICE yesterday recovered a car believed to have belonged to slain Ghanaian national Kofi Boateng. The white Nissan Wingroad was found abandoned in Pelican Extension, Morvant bearing false number plates.

Police towed the car, which was found locked, but investigators were waiting on relatives to bring in a spare key before they could dust for fingerprints. A police source also revealed they had identified a suspect.

Boateng, 38, of Holder Drive, off Persad Street, El Dorado, an employee of Chinese construction giants Shanghai Construction Co, was stabbed and thrown out of his vehicle by three men along Picton Street, Newtown, Wednesday night.

He died hours later at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
