A THREE-PERSON team from the Ministry of Planning, Housing and Environment is now in Copenhagen, Denmark to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the United Nations (UN) Climate Change Summit.

They are Kishan Kumarsingh, Head of the Multilateral Environmental Agreement Unit; Dr David Persad, Environmental Manager in the Environmental Policy and Planning Division; and Petal Thomas, Research Specialist.

“They are continuing the technical talks from Barcelona and before,” said the source.

The technocrats are expected to be in Copenhagen for the 12 days of the talks and to be joined later in the month for the high level talks by Prime Minister Patrick Manning and Minister of Planning, Dr Emily Dick-Forde. Trinidad and Tobago has played a significant role of head of Copenhagen by hosting the last big international conference before the UN talks in the form of the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting (CHOGM), which took place last week.
