One of the men who was once accused of kidnapping businesswoman Phillip Talma was killed by gunmen at his Maraval home on Friday night.

According to police, Ian Morgan, and his sister Leslie- Ann were at Upper Moraldo Street, when they were attacked by gunmen who stormed their home at about 11.30 pm.

Ian died at the scene while his sister was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.

Ian Morgan was among three persons who stood before Chief Magistrate Sherman Mc Nicolls in the Preliminary Inquiry of Talma’s kidnapping.

However, he was not committed to stand trial. Some three hours earlier on Friday, at 8.30 pm Kendell Morgan a brother of the deceased, was at Moraldo Street, Maraval when unknown men approached him, and opened fire.

He sustained gunshot wounds about the body, and was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he remains warded.

According to Court records, Ian Morgan, and three others escaped the hang man’s noose in 1998, when they were acquitted of killing a Royal Bank security guard.

The officer was plying his taxi for hire on Independence Square Port-of-Spain, when Morgan, and three other men entered his car.

The guard’s body was found three days later at Tyrico Bay. Morgan, and the men were charged with murder but were freed in the High Court.
