THE TT Meteorological Office yesterday via a press release advised all marine interests that sea conditions have become choppy to rough, particularly along the Northern and Eastern coasts of Trinidad and Tobago.

The conditions are expected to persist for the next 24 to 48 hours.

The turbulent sea conditions, the Met Office said, are associated with a frontal system that is traversing the Atlantic Ocean.

Reports reaching the Met Office have confirmed the agitated state of the open sea along the northern and eastern coasts of Trinidad and Tobago. Waves as a result are in excess of three and a half metres.

The Met Office said that Numerical Weather Prediction models have yesterday predicted that these rough sea conditions will persist for as long as the next 48 hours.

Small craft operators, sea bathers and all marine interests are asked to exercise extra caution in any sea related activities.

The release, signed by Albert S Alexander, Meteorologist II assured that the Met Office will continue to monitor the situation and will issue an update to the media sometime today.
