SOCA STAR Nadia Batson has suffered a miscarriage and will not be performing at Carnival events for the remainder of the 2010 season.

According to a statement from the singer’s publicist, Batson’s decision to “exempt herself from performances through the rest of the Carnival season, has not come lightly, but is deemed necessary”.

Batson discovered she was pregnant at the beginning of Carnival 2010 and although she embarked on a strict health regimen right away, she still made herself available for bookings.

The singer had been enjoying a successful but busy season with her latest releases, “Heaven,” a collaboration with Kees Dieffenthaller of Kes The Band, as well as “ Dangerous” and Keep Wining”.

Batson had last been in action at Kes the Band’s concert “Shangri-la” at Under the Trees, Hotel Normandie, last Thursday and the Fatima Old Boys’ Carnival All-Inclusive in Mucurapo on Saturday.

The statement issued on her behalf continued: “Fans and supporters of the artiste can rest assured that she is now preparing to treat herself to some much needed rest following the untimely ordeal.

Fans of the soca star can keep abreast of her activities on the social networking site, Twitter.
