Drizzles yesterday offer brief respite

BRIEF showers in parts of North Trinidad yesterday brought a brief respite from months of blistering heat but the Meteorological Office explained that hot and dry conditions, which have been the hallmarks of this harsh dry season, are expected to continue for the foreseeable future. Several pedestrians in Port-of-Spain yesterday opened their umbrellas not to shelter from the sun but instead, from the rain. Parked cars got a good washing for a few minutes which no doubt would have brought smiles to the faces owners since washing with hoses is banned due to the harsh dry season.
