Members of the Police Service Commission (PSC) led by chairman Nizam Mohammed met yesterday to discuss matters relating to the Police Service.

It was the second meeting of the PSC, and sources revealed several matters were discussed, including the invitation of Police Commissioner Dwayne Gibbs to this country to negotiate his salary and renumeration package.

Although it was discussed, no firm decision was taken on when Gibbs, a Canadian, will be invited to participate in the negotiations.

Two members of the PSC, who were contacted on their cellphones yesterday, disclosed they could not comment on the meeting, since a decision was made by the chairman that only he would make statements to the press.

However, calls to the cellphone of chairman Mohammed went unanswered.

During the first meeting on Monday, matters relating to the role the PSC would play in restoring morale in the Police Service, as well as assisting in anti-crime measures were discussed.
