THE nation celebrated the 48th anniversary of independence yesterday with the highlight of several activities being the Independence Day parade of the Defence Force at the Queen’s Park Savannah.

All arms of the Defence Force was represented including the Regiment, Police, Fire, Coast Guard, Air Guard, Prisons and Cadets, with officers from the various services marching in full regalia to the accompaniment of music from various bands.
