AFTER collecting five pints of blood from the public to undergo a life-saving operation later this month, Baldath Ramsumair, is now pleading with the public for a safe place to stay until he recovers from the operation.

Ramsumair, an outpatient of the cardiac clinic of the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH), explained that his home is unsafe and he was fearful that if he does not take the necessary precaution, death might soon follow. The 43-year-old lives alone at Guaracara/Tabaquite Road and depends on social disability grants to sustain himself. He is due to undergo an operation on September 21 at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mount Hope to remove blockage in his arteries.

“ My home is unsafe and I cannot afford to rent a place to stay while I get better. When they discharge me from the hospital, I will be sort of handicaped for awhile as my cuts heal. But my place is not suitable,” Ramsumair said.

Ramsumair expressed gratitude for the help received in collecting the blood after his plight was highlighted in The People’s Newspaper recently. He further called on members of the public to assist financially so that he can pay for a proper place to stay in the interim of his recovery.
