The Couva Tabaquite Talparo Regional Corporation (CTTRC) has responded swiftly to fix a problem that has been affecting residents along Mt Pleasant Road, Spring Vale, Forress Park, Claxton Bay for several months after it was highlighted in Newsday yesterday.

The source of the residents’ problem is a clogged drain which has caused a pond to form next to the pavement on the road.

With the onset of the heavy rains over the past few months the pond grew bigger posing a health hazard and a danger to pedestrians. Residents complained that it was not uncommon for schoolchildren to fall into the pond since the pavement becomes covered with water during heavy showers.
