SHOW OF SUPPORT: Attorney General Anand Ramlogan, left, and National security Minister Jack Warner hug a People's Partnership supporter, even as Ramlo...

Declaring he was UNC from his “cap to his shoes”, UNC chairman and National Security Minister, Jack Warner, yesterday told Opposition Leader, Dr Keith Rowley, that neither he (Warner) nor Attorney General Anand Ramlogan were “going anywhere” despite calls from the Opposition in the wake of the controversy surrounding the controversial section 34.

Addressing a large crowd of supporters at the party’s Pre-Budget Rally at Mid Centre Mall, Chaguanas, Warner said all members of the Opposition benches had voted for the now repealed section of law so he saw no reason why either he or Ramlogan should be asked to resign. He then played a video excerpt of a sitting of the Parliament on November 18, 2011, in which all of the PNM MP’s had initially voted for the Bill.

When the video reached the instance when Rowley said ‘aye’ to the Bill, Warner ordered a rewind of the video, saying, “Play it twice, play it again.”

He then warned Rowley to desist with his calls for the removal of himself or Ramlogan.

“We not moving,” Warner told the gathering, which erupted into applause.

“From my cap to my shoes I am UNC. I came here arm in arm with Anand Ramlogan and when you touch one, you touch all of us. We are not going nowhere.”

Warner also recounted some of his achievements over the past few months as Minister of National Security, saying eight new police stations were due to be constructed throughout Trinidad and Tobago.

He also drew Rowley’s attention to the show of support for the PP at yesterday’s rally.

“If Rowley had any doubts about trying to destabilise the Government, look around and see. The people are supporting this Government and this party,” he said.
