THE public holiday, Divali, is on November 13, Communications Minister, Jamal Mohammed, announced at yesterday’s post-Cabinet news conference at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s.

Mohammed also said there were extensive discussions at yesterday’s weekly Cabinet meeting about the 2013 Budget. As a result, Government’s Chief Whip in the Senate, Ganga Singh, is currently preparing Government senators for the Budget debate in the Senate which starts 10 am on Monday. Before the debate begins, new Justice Minister Christlyn Moore sworn in as a government senator, and the senatorial appointment of Terrence Baynes will be revoked to make way for her.

Moore replaced St Joseph MP Herbert Volney who was fired over the Section 34 fiasco.
