Parents continued their protest yesterday outside the Cunapo St Francis RC Primary School on Brierley Street, Sangre Grande, for the third consecutive day. They are protesting the condition of the school, which they say is a danger to their children.

The PTA will hold an emergency meeting today at 5 pm at the schoolyard and it is asking all parents to make an attempt to attend. From this meeting they will decide on their next step.

However, they plan to take their protest to the Ministry of Education’s District Office on Savi Street, Boodoovile, Sangre Grande, today.

Jillian Forde, spokesman for the protesting parents, said when they arrived at the school yesterday they found the gates locked. She said parents are concerned that their children’s education is being affected with the closure of the school and they want answers as to when it will be reopened.

They are calling on the Minister of Education, Dr Tim Gopeesingh, to have their children housed elsewhere until a decision is made about school.
