An autopsy is expected to be performed today to determine the cause of death of Lance Corporal Curtis Marshal, who died on Saturday night at the TT Defence Force Headquarters in Chaguaramas.

In a media release which was issued yesterday by the Civil Military Affairs Officer, Major Al Alexander, it was explained at about 11:40pm on December 29, Lance Corporal (LCpl) Curtis Marshall was found lying unconscious in the vicinity of the Clothing and Equipment Stores at the Defence Force Headquarters.

The initial attempts to revive LCpl Marshall by military medical personnel were unsuccessful. He was subsequently rushed via ambulance to the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in Cocorite.

However, despite further efforts to resuscitate LCpl Marshall at the hospital, he was eventually pronounced dead by Dr O Fagbola.

“LCpl Marshall enlisted in the TT Regiment on August 09 2004, and his total service was approximately eight years and four months. He was married to Ashlyn John — Marshall, and is survived by his 5-year old daughter, Curtlyn.

“The Chief of Defence Staff extends deepest condolences on behalf of the Defence Force to the family and friends of the late 10933 LCpl Curtis Marshall. May God grant them peace and solace in this time of need,” the release read.
