THERE was a low turnout and a light drizzle at times but this did not diminish or take away from the performances of the single pan and conventional bands on Saturday at Pan Trinbago’s National Semi-Finals at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain.

First to take the stage were Hope Pan Groovers who played the collaboration by Machel Montano, Rikki Jai and Duane O’Connor’s “Gold”, a choice song also for Brimblers, but this time by Maestro.

Fyzabad 4th Dimension’s offering of Super Blue’s (Austin Lyons) “Jab Jab” highlighted the soca legend’s re-entry into the soca arena after over 12 years of laying low. Stardust Steel Orchestra followed suit when they took to the stage in seventh position. Belmont Hi Larks definitely had the patrons “bubbling” to Neil Iwer George’s “Bubble”, while Arima All Stars came on strong with Super Blue’s “Unknown Band”.
