Moms can’t get enough of Super

Monday, May 13 2013

THE audience clearly couldn’t get enough of SuperBlue (Austin Lyons) and wanted more of him at the Just For Mom concert held at WASA compound, St Joseph on Saturday. In fact, they chanted his named even after MC Tommy Joseph came on stage to announce the end of the show after Super’s performance.

The show began with a performance by Megan Waldron who started her set by singing an R&B version of Kerwin Dubois’ “Bacchanalist.” She was followed by Shurwayne Winchester who started his performance by walking through the crowd serenading the ladies with some of his many hits.

Lord Nelson was next and as usual he had the crowd entertained both by his famous catsuit outfits (a pink one this time) and by his performance of such hits as “Disco Daddy” and “Meh Lover.” But the night clearly belonged to SuperBlue. He was preceded by his daughter Terri Lyons whose brief performance seemed to serve as a sort of introduction to what was to follow.

As soon as he hit the stage, many in the audience were up and dancing to his opening song. “Hello Hello.” This was one of the few times Super remained on stage. Pulling from his wide repertoire and even singing a medley of songs by other artistes, Super spent most of his time moving through the crowd, singing, dancing, chatting with and even personally serenading some of the ladies in the audience. And, they could not get enough of him. So much so that, even when he ended his performance, and the show, with “Fantastic Friday” they kept calling for more of him. The show ended just before 11.30 pm much to the surprise of many.
