Police: Beware arranging dates online
Friday, July 5 2013
POLICE are cautioning teenagers against arranging dates with strangers via popular social media sites, due to reports of date rapes during previous July-August school vacations. “We’ve had a few reports that as a result of meetings arranged via popular social networking sites...date rapes (and) offences have occurred,” Public Information Officer with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, Sergeant Wayne Mystar, yesterday advised teenagers.
He was speaking during the weekly press briefing at Police Administration Building, corner of Edward and Sackville Streets, Port-of-Spain.
