PM, Rowley to collaborate on anti-crime measures
Sunday, August 18 2013
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley on Thursday night met for discussions on the upsurge in crime and criminality in the country.
A release from the Prime Minister’s office said Persad Bissessar and Rowley meeting at the Diplomatic Centre followed the Prime Minister’s visit with residents of Duncan Street, Port of Spain on Thursday and a meeting which Dr Rowley held with affected residents at his Diego Martin East constituency office and who subsequently made an urgent request for a meeting with the Prime Minister. The release said Persad-Bissessar and Dr Rowley, along with their support teams, will meet again on Thursday at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s “with a view to taking immediate, responsive action to treat with the causative factors specifically related to the problems that have arisen in the last week.”
