Jack gives food hampers
By COREY CONNELLY Sunday, September 1 2013
Interim political leader of the Independent Liberal Party (ILP) Jack Warner was not allowed much breathing space yesterday as he listened to the concerns and grievances of Laventille residents during an early morning Independence Day meeting in the troubled community. Near chaotic scenes unfolded on the John John Basketball Court as distressed residents fought to get Warner’s attention during the meeting which began shortly after 6 am and ended three hours later.
During the informal session, party officials also distributed food hampers, ILP paraphernalia and copy books and stationery to residents, many of whom were grateful for the assistance ahead of tomorrow’s re-opening of the new school term.
