ILP candidate on seven gun charges

A 38-YEAR-OLD Morvant man who was chosen as a candidate for the Independent Liberal Party (ILP) to contest a San Juan/ Laventille Regional Corporation seat in the Local Government elections, was yesterday charged with seven gun related offences and will appear before a Chaguanas magistrate today.
The charges were laid yesterday by PC Mohammed of the Chaguanas Police Station. The charges are three counts of shooting with intent, possession of a firearm to endanger life, possession of an unlicensed firearm; possession of ammunition and possession of ammunition to endanger life.
