A maxi-taxi driver was killed yesterday when his vehicle collided with a PTSC bus along the Western Main Road, Chaguaramas, in the vicinity of the Pier One nightclub.
Dead is Stephen Bobb, 37, of Carenage.
According to police reports, a yellow band maxi-taxi collided with the bus at about 5 pm. Police said eight injured persons were removed from the scene.
Police were unable to indicate whether there were any more fatalities as a result of the accident.
Police said the bus was heading west and made contact with the maxi which was heading east as it turned a bend.
Relatives of Bobb confirmed he was killed.

Relatives described Bobb as a community man who had three children and “one on the way.”
Up to press time, police and fire officers were still at the accident site, with traffic into and out of Chaguaramas slowing to a crawl.
Also present were officials from the PTSC. Officers from the Carenage Police Station are continuing investigations.
