Businessman kidnapped in Lopinot

By Nalinee Seelal Saturday, May 10 2014

A 45-year-old businessman was kidnapped while on his way home at Lopinot at about 2.30 am yesterday.

According to police reports Glen O’Brian, the owner of One Stop Plus Mini Mart at Dinsley, Tacarigua, was driving his white Almera car, registration number PCK 5527, along the Lopinot Road when he was seized by unknown persons who left his car behind. Relatives who were called to the area where the car was found, contacted the police

Officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit were also alerted as well as the businessman’s mother, who is reported to be the owner of several security companies, and who also recently purchased a boat specifically to accommodate parties in the Chaguaramas area.

Officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit were conducting enquiries into O’Brian’s disappearance up to yesterday. His kidnapping is the second for the year. On March 20 last, Freeport courier Divindra Siewdass was kidnapped by persons who demanded a $2 million ransom. However, his charred remains were found four days later in Tableland.
