Earthquake rocks TT

Monday, January 9 2017

An early morning earthquake registering a 4.4 magnitude was felt in several parts of Trinidad, yesterday.

According to the UWI Seismic Research Centre (SRC) the quake occurred around 5.51am at latitude 11.06N and longitude 1.79W, at a depth of 10 kilometres.

It struck 54 kilometres North West of Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, 73 kilometres North West of Arima, Trinidad and Tobago, 97 kilometres North West of San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago. The UWI SRC says the event was automatically located by a seismological computational system, therefore, is only preliminary result..
