Carol Jacobs launches Carol
Thursday, February 9 2006
Carol Jacobs and her management team in collaboration with 51 Degrees held a "strictly by invitation" launch of her 2006 Compact Disc "Carol" on Tuesday night. The exclusive affair came off at the RBTT Pavilion at the Queen’s Park Oval in the presence of about 50 people including several record distributors, musicians, producers and performers. Artistes from producers Kenny Phillips, Junior "Ibo" Joseph, Pelham Goddard and Dave Ramoutar also performed at the launch. Very special guests were Carl Jacobs and his daughter Trini who performed with Carol. Carl flew in from Miami, Florida, just to be a part of his wife’s launch. Trini, who is a lead vocalist with the band Invazion, could not let her mother’s launch go by without her support. Carol performed several songs from her album including one where she dressed in an ambassador costume from the band Coliseum. After an absence of 17 years on a stage in Trinidad and Tobago, Carl Jacobs was joined by his wife and daughter in a superb rendition of the hit song "Trini to the Bone." When he was finished, Carl expressed his pleasure at being back home in Trinidad and being able to perform alongside his wife and daughter. The CD Carol will be released shortly.
