King and Carite fish prices dip
Saturday, March 10 2007 click on pic to zoom in LIKE PEAS: Pigeon peas were on sale yesterday in great amounts in Port-of-Spain at $6 per pound on Prince Street.... Persons fasting for Lent had something to smile about yesterday as favourite fishes — King and Carite — were at their cheapest so far for the season. Most fish vendors on George Street, Port-of-Spain were selling King Fish at $23 a pound while Carite was priced at $20 per pound. Several fish vendors though said that the price was still high. They said this was due to a scarcity of fish.
