DEATH CAR: The car being removed from the scene. ...

THREE MEMBERS of a Mayaro family, including an 11-year-old girl, were killed yesterday evening when the vehicle they were in crashed into a coconut tree off the Mayaro/Manzanilla Main Road. Four other persons, also from the same family, were critically injured.

Police said the family were returning to their Mayaro home after selling cascadura in Sangre Grande.

According to a police report, at about 5 pm, Neisha Bissoon, 37, was driving her silver Mazda 323 car along the Manzanilla/Mayaro Road when she lost control of the vehicle near the 41 mile mark and crashed into a coconut tree.

Bissoon, Deoraj Narine, 60, and Shamilla Ramlogan, 11, were thrown from the vehicle through the windscreen onto the roadway.

Narine died on the scene while Bissoon and Ramlogan died while on the way to the Sangre Grande District Hospital (SGDH).

Bissoon’s 13-month-old son Devanand Francis was also in the vehicle along with Bobby Narine, 33, and Ishmael Salim.

The three were also taken to the SGDH where their conditions are said to be critical.

A party of officers including ASP Burn, Cpl Paris and PC Pamponette visited the scene.

District Medical Officer Dr Laksmi also arrived and ordered Narine’s body to be removed to the SGDH mortuary. Investigations are continuing.
