The District Grand Lodge of Trinidad and Tobago (DGLTT) celebrated the 50th Anniversary of its Erection and Consecration with an Inter-Faith Thanksgiving Service, last Thursday, at All Saints Anglican Church, Queen’s Park West. Officiating Clergy were The Right Reverend Clive Abdulah, himself a mason, and The Reverend Shelly-Ann Tenia.

Established on March 19, 1958, the DGLTT is a subordinate Masonic body under the Grand Lodge of Ancient and Accepted Masons of Scotland, the world body in charge of Freemasonry under the Scottish Constitution, in Edinburgh. The local body is responsible for running the affairs of 13 Masonic Lodges in Trinidad, Tobago and Grenada, under the framework set out by the Scottish Grand Lodge.

Representatives from the 13 lodges were joined by guests from lodges in Barbados and Guyana first at the church, then for cocktails at The Temple, Mt Zion, 9 Herbert Street, St Clair, headquarters of the local Grand Lodge..

Brother Stanley Marcus Right Worshipful District Grand Master read the first lesson, Brother Dr Suren Maharaj the second reading and Brothers Yusuff Abraham and Jeff Sankar said the Muslim and Hindu prayers. Joanne Pyle and Benedict Rousseau of the Lydians were soloists. Brother Col Edison Isaac, Hon.Gr. Sword Bearer, Worshipful Substitute District Grand Master, moved the vote of thanks.
