FYZABAD MP Chandresh Sharma who was issued a traffic ticket on October 17, said Saturday, he would tomorrow make a statement on the issuing of a warrant for his arrest by a magistrate.

Sharma was expected to appear in court on October 17, not having paid the $200 ticket for allegedly improperly overtaking another vehicle. The ticket mandated that he pay the fine within 14 days, but Sharma did not.

Two weeks ago in the Chaguanas Third Magistrate’s Court, magistrate Margaret Alert issued a warrant for Sharma’s arrest after his name was called several times and there was no appearance of him. When contacted yesterday, Sharma said: “On Tuesday call me. For now I am not commenting on the issue.”
