PRESIDENT George Maxwell Richards yesterday left the country on personal business.

He is accompanied by his wife, Dr Jean Ramjohn-Richards.

His Excellency and Mrs Richards will return to TT on October 2. In his absence President of the Senate, Senator Timothy Hamel-Smith, will serve as Acting President.

The Independence Day National Awards Ceremony was Richards’ last official engagement before his departure.
