Moore hints at Govt backing for gay rights
Wednesday, March 6 2013 JUSTICE Minister Christlyn Moore yesterday hinted that Government is in support of gay rights but said it is an unresolved and “ongoing debate” in the nation. She made the comment while addressing a forum at the Hyatt Regency in Port-of-Spain by the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association on the role of Caribbean MPs in promoting human rights. “The Government seeks to recognise the rights of all citizens including the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community,” said Moore. She added that it is “a matter of ongoing debate”.
