Dookeran not job hunting
Thursday, November 22 2007 TWO WEEKS after his party failed to win a seat in the General Election, Congress of the People (COP) Political Leader Winston Dookeran yesterday said he has not been job hunting now that he is no longer an elected Member of Parliament. Dookeran however revealed that he has received some job offers in the aftermath of the election, but did not say what those offers were. Dookeran, won the St Augustine seat in 2001 on a UNC ticket but left that party on September 10, 2006 to form the COP. Dookeran, who is an economist by profession and a former Central Bank Governor, lost the St Augustine seat to the UNC Alliance’s Vasant Bharath in the November 5 General Election.
