NOTWITHSTANDING the repeal of Section 34 of the Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings) Act, the Government has handed persons charged with corruption a “legal pathway” to having the proceedings stayed, Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley said yesterday.

The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA) is claiming success in its campaign to speed up negotiations, saying the last two days of “rest and reflection” seemed to have prompted “a shift in attitude” from the Chief Personnel Officer (CPO), Stephanie Lewis.
