AEION CHARLES scored a beaver-trick as 1st FC Santa Rosa demolished Mayaro Spurs 15-0 in a Group “B” clash as Match Day Six action in the National Youth League took place on June 20.
The game, which took place at the Youth Training Centre Ground in Arouca, saw Charles getting his name on the scoresheet in the 11th, 57th, 60th and 68th minutes.
Andre Noreiga, Robert Alexis and Akinkhu Trotman each notched hat-tricks — Trotman netted in the tenth, 45th and 80th, Noreiga scored in the 14th, 34th and 43rd, and Alexis struck in the 18th, 50th and 70th.
Ricardo Tate (45th) and Jean-Paul Aqui-Blanc (87th) chipped in with one apiece in the goal-scoring massacre.
Another one-sided victory in Group “B” occurred at the Coronation Park in Point Fortin, as visitors Joe Public hammered Point Fortin Civic Centre 5-0.
Scoring two goals apiece were Jabari Hinds (37th and 62nd) and Kerron Hernandez (59th and 66th), while Shaquille Smith added the other.
Queen’s Park failed to turn up to their scheduled Group “A” encounter against 1976 FC Phoenix at the St Anthony’s College Ground in Westmoorings, and hence lost by a 3-0 default margin.
But Harlem Strikers and Club Sando battled to a 1-1 draw at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella, with Richard Seetahal netting for Harlem in the 50th before Ameil Brooks equalising in the 89th.
In the Under-15 Division, Santa Rosa recorded the biggest win, in Group “B”, by a 4-0 margin over Moruga at the YTC Ground.
Jordan Devenish netted a double for Santa Rosa, in the 24th and 30th minutes, while Antonio Augustine (first) and Andre Rampersad (35th) added one apiece.
Also in Group “B”, Joe Public trounced hosts Point Fortin 3-0 courtesy strikes from Marcus Gomez (23rd), Leon Durity (44th) and Ronell Francis (66th).
Harlem whipped Club Sando 3-1 in a Group “A” tussle, with Ronaldo Parris (seventh), Issiah Shalto (49th) and Deon O’Garro (57th) on target for Harlem while Nikoli Giles (34th) replied for Club Sando.
And Queen’s Park twice responded from being a goal down to earn a 2-2 tie against Phoenix at Westmoorings.
Jem Gordon put Phoenix in front in the 30th but Marcus Mottley replied in the 36th, Gordon restored Phoenix’s lead in the 56th but their lead, once again, did not last long as Christopher Dixon netted the game- leveller in the 59th.
