The Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) finally announced its provision squad of 20 players for the Champions League Twenty20 tournament which will be played from October 8 to 23 in India.

Notably absent from the provisional squad is former multiple world record holder, Brian Lara who the TTCB had written to the organisers of the tournament to inquire about his participation as a player/coach. Also missing from the squad is Ceramic Merry Boys opener Mario Belcon who was amongst the top batsmen in the WIPA Twenty20 Champions League and Carib Twenty20 tournament as well as Queen’s Park captain Justin Guillen. Left arm spinner Dave Mohammed who asked for a break from regional cricket earlier this year due to personal reasons is also selected.

The final squad of 15 will be selected on September 7.
