Muslin United win at windballSunday, November 22 2009
MUSLIN United sealed an important six-wicket victory over Team Anthrax in the latest round of the Avinash Narine Windball Tournament at Farm Road in St Joseph.
Batting first Team Anthrax made a competitive total of 83 for seven from 12 overs. Desmond Patrick top scored with 22 runs and David Balkaran chipped in with 20 runs to lead the innings. Riad Mohammed took three for 22 and received assistance from Sharif Mohammed taking two for 10 which prevented Team Anthrax from posting a larger total. Muslim United then coasted to victory with Sameer Juman stroking 39 runs as they closed on 84 for four. Hemchan Hitlal, 14, provided assistance for Juman. Jaleel Baksh took three for 19 but was unable to prevent Muslim United from claiming victory.
