Under-17 women on Mexico tourWednesday, November 25 2009
TRINIDAD AND Tobago Under-17 women’s football team will continue their preparations for the 2010 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup (TT is the host country) with a brief tour of Mexico.
The Even Pellerud-coached team left for Mexico yesterday and face the hosts in a pair of matches tomorrow and Saturday.
At a recent media conference, at the CONCACAF Boardroom in Port-of-Spain, Pellerud noted, “It’s a short trip to Mexico City, two very exciting games, and that’ll be their first games since they played El Salvador (in August).
“I’m very confident in what we’re doing but the next step for us is to play more international games,” added the Norwegian-born Pellerud. He was high in praise of the team, since taking his new role in January. “They have trained hard, seven sessions a week,” he said. “We have an amazing commitment level amongst the players and increasing level of support from the parents.
“I can also report on a high level of collaboration with the (Secondary Schools) Football League, there are no issue of conflicts at all,” he continued. “We’re working together throughout the season.”
