Emrit, Narine shine for Furniture Boys

Trinidad and Tobago players Rayad Emrit and Sunil Narine were in good form leading Furniture Boys ‘B’ to a crushing 48-run victory over D’ A Team in the Men’s Division of the Trinidad and Tobago Windball Cricket Association tournament in Tacarigua.

Emrit was in stellar form slamming 51 runs and sharing in a dominant partnership with Narine who made 49 runs. They enabled Furniture Boys ‘B’ to close on imposing total of 159 for four from their 12 overs. Emrit showed his ability to hit cleanly while Narine’s aggressive nature saw Furniture Boys ‘B’ take control of the match. Shirvan Ramdeo was the only bowler to be spared the onslaught taking three for 16.

D’ A Team were never in the match with their batsmen unable to impose themselves at the crease. Vicky Gobin top scored with 17 not out and Shan Ramkissoon made 16 runs as D’ A Team finished on 111 for nine from their 12 overs. The trio of Sudesh Ramlogan, Kayon Williams and Christian Nnoray were the main wicket takers. They collected two wickets each to ensure that Furniture Boys ‘B’ completed an emphatic victory.

In the Women’s Division,

Natalie Ninah scored a half-century to lead Spice Girls to a 34 run win over Outsiders.

Ninah slammed 54 runs as Spice Girls made an imposing total of 121 for five from their ten overs. Deville Singh scored 21 runs and complimented Ninah’s attacking knock. Tyshauna Salazar was the pick of the bowlers for Outsiders taking two wickets for five runs.

Outsider were unable to mount a successful run chase with Allison and Alice Collins doing the damage. Alice took two for 14 and Allison claimed two for 23 as Outsiders struggled to 87 for seven from their ten overs. Rachael Benjamin top scored with 29 runs while Ursula Andrews chipped in with 11 runs.
