Singh shines in Bamboo Windball

Backyard Boys cruised to a 15-run victory over Players in the 2011 Bamboo Cricket League at the Bamboo Settlement #1 Recreation Ground.

Batting first, Backyard Boys were guided to competitive total by Avinash Singh and Manideo Boodram. Singh top scored with an aggressive knock of 32 runs and Boodram provided steady support, socring 20 runs. Brandon Kalidass was the pick of the bowlers taking three for 29.

Singh then returned with the ball to wreck the Players run chase. He took three wickets for 15 runs as Players were restricted to 59 for seven from their 12 overs. Mark Cumberbatch claimed three wickets for 12 runs to bowl their team to a comfortable victory. Trevor Mohammed was the only batsman to show any resistance, top scoring with 17 runs.
