SAN JUAN Jabloteh, the reigning Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) FA Trophy champions, will begin their title defence tomorrow when they face El Dorado Secondary at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima.
But there will also be matches today, Monday and next Sunday in the Second Round of the 2011-2012 competition.
With Caroni Samba automatically progressing to the Third Round - as Stokely Vale decided to opt out of the competition - eight teams can book places to the next stage today.
TTEC will be fielding two teams today - their Pro League team will be meeting St Francois Nationals at the New Ground, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain while their Southern Football Association (SFA) outfit will be opposing the Clint Marcelle Coaching School at La Brea.
Joe Public, the 2011 Blink bmobile National Super League champs, will be hosting the St Clair Coaching School at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya while Guaya United will be welcoming the challenge of Harlem Strikers at La Savan, New Lands, Guayaguayare. Carapichaima East Secondary, one of three remaining Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) teams left in the competition, will be hosting OJ’s Soldado School while Defence Force will be visiting Mafeking United at the Mafeking Recreation Ground. 1976 FC Phoenix, just like TTEC, will have two teams in action today.
In the first of back-to-back matches at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Bacolet, Phoenix’s Super League team will oppose Club Sando while Phoenix’s Tobago Football Association (TFA) squad will meet Scarborough Secondary.
Tomorrow, there will be four Digicel Pro League teams in the thick of things.
The Jabloteh-El Dorado match will hold centre stage, but last year’s runners- up North East Stars will oppose Dalthea Football Academy at the Marvin Lee Stadium.
W Connection will be fancying their chances against KC Perseverance at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva while Police will be going up against Youth Stars at the Harlem Ground, Caroni.
On Monday, WASA will have two teams in Second Round ties - their Super League squad will battle Queen’s Park at the New Ground, Queen’s Park Savannah while their Eastern Football Association (EFA) outfit will face Pro League team St Ann’s Rangers. And, next Sunday, Caledonia AIA will battle FC Santa Rosa at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) O’Meara Campus, Arima.
