Local racing resumes with 8-race programmeWednesday, June 27 2012
AFTER a one-week break, local horseracing resumes at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, with an eight-race programme on Saturday.
There are some crowded fields on the day with three races designated to be run off on the turf course.
One race, the fourth for horses rated 40-0 over 1100 metres on the turf, has an entry of 23 runners and a full 12-horse field is assured.
The sixth race has an entry of 14 while the day’s finale has 13 entered.
The day’s feature with a purse of $87,000 will be run over 1750 metres on the main track, and it brings together eight of the horses rated 90 and over.
Included in the feature are recent winners Just Call Me Roger, Lang Amour and Montejo. But Mobsthewarrior, Youresobad and Sacred Trust, Skyline Pigeon and Strikes Not Spares make up the field.
