Young aspiring cricketers got the opportunity of a lifetime on Saturday as West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul imparted some of his knowledge to them at the inaugural Nazee three-day cricket camp held at Presentation College, Chaguanas.

Chanderpaul is the head coach at Nazee’s which proved a huge success and concluded yesterday. Boys and girls between the ages of 6-18 got tips from the Guyanese batting maestro who was delighted to give advice to them and spend some time with the youngsters. The former West Indies captain also gave lectures to the children not only on how to improve their skills but also valuable life lessons

Organiser, Jelani Bynoe, noted, “Nazee Youth Cricket Academy is a new cricket company which owns automated ball throwing machines and other modern cricket equipment.

He added, “Developing skilled cricket players and tomorrow’s leaders will certainly benefit the game and our society. We want to develop and improve the skill level of a sport that is an integral part of the Caribbean history, culture and identity, and plays an integral role in future development of the region. Our camp will help empower the next generation and might even produce future professional players.”
