Bethel take lead in Tobago football Tuesday, September 18 2012
BETHEL UNITED surged to the top of the Premier Division in the Tobago Football Association after a narrow 2-1 victory over Youth Stars United at Goodwood.
A Vernon Wharton double gave the men from Bethel the victory, cancelling out a strike by Uriah Palmer in Sunday’s game.
They replaced Roxborough Lakers at the top, despite the Lakers’ comfortable 3-1 victory over Taylor’s Rentals Goal City, also on Sunday at Plymouth.
Ackeel Sterling scored twice while Kwasi Beckles got the other goal for the winners while Kamkin George got the consolation.
Georgia FC moved into fourth position after a 2-1 triumph over Mason Hall USSS on Sunday at the Dwight Yorke Stadium training ground. Shey Jerry and Joel Jack scored one goal each for the winners while Jeremy Orr got the Mason Hall tally. Meanwhile, defending champions St Clair’s Coaching School continue to struggle, drubbed 4-0 by 1976 FC Phoenix at Plymouth in their game on Friday.
Curtis Joseph and Dominique Roberts both scored doubles for the winners.
