Queen’s Park win fourth straight

Tuesday, February 5 2013

TWO-TIME Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) Sunday League Premiership 50-overs competition champions Queen’s Park claimed a fourth straight win in Group “A” yesterday when they blanked Moosai Sports by six wickets in a Round Four battle at the Queen’s Park Oval, St Clair.

The visitors were only able to post 222 runs for nine wickets off their allotted 50 overs with Ewart Nicholson leading the way with 50, while Jeetendra Sookdeo struck 41 and ex-TT all- rounder Navin Stewart 35. Anthony Simmons copped three wickets for 44 runs for the Parkites, with Daron Cruickshank taking 2/41 and Uthman Muhammad 2/47.

Queen’s Park had little trouble in reaching 227/4 with 3.2 overs to spare, courtesy 73 from Petrock Nicholas, 51 from Isaiah Rajah, an unbeaten 49 from Jonathan Augustus and 23 from Akeal Hosein.

And Wanderers continued to forfeit more matches in the Sunday League, as they defaulted their scheduled Group “B” clash away to Wanderers.
