Look for exciting finish in ‘feature’

Saturday, February 16 2013

ON paper, an exciting finish is in store in the “feature” 1200 metres sprint for horses rated 70-50, when local horse racing resumes at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, after the break for carnival, today.

At least five of the eight entrants can hit the finish line first with Believe It Or Not, The Right Time, A Great Millennium, Golden Flight and Roman Anthem holding the engagement.

Turfites will be in their element today with four races scheduled for the popular Hi5 betting.

And the pot thickens with a bounty of $94,615.55 awaiting the lucky turfite to spot the quintet in the first of the Hi5s, the day’s second race for West Indies-bred three-year-old maidens over 1100 metres on the turf course.

Best betting race of the day appears to be the fourth, second of the Hi5s a 1100 metres sprint on the turf for horses rated 40-0.

Rosie Dream should lead the way home with Bonnie, Angelica Jane, Zipitup, Zahawi and Satya Treasure being those from which the five should come.

Another good betting race should be the sixth for horses rated 30-0 over 1200 metres.

The nod here goes to the speedy Game Adzalia, but Vijayanti, Fire N’Faith, Red-Hot Wheels and Unbridled Way will all be in the toss up.

Today’s racing is timed to begin at 12.45 pm.
