Ramkessoon pleased with TTCB results

Tuesday, October 29 2013

OUTGOING FIRST vice-president of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) Dudnath Ramkessoon is pleased with the results of Saturday’s elections, which saw the incumbent Azim Bassarath defeat his challenger Dinanath Ramnarine 28-20 during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the National Cricket Centre, Couva.

In an interview on Sunday, Ramkessoon said, “the results went as expected, the slate lead by Azim Bassarath, of which I am a part of, not the slate that contested the elections, but I fully support Bassarath and his slate.

“The eligible voters, or people who voted, recognised the work that is being done, and voted for continuity. I think that is good for the cricket.” Under the revised constitution, Ramkessoon was unable to go up for re- election since he is currently employed by the Board, as the cricket operations manager.

“I’ll be in charge of the facilities, to ensure that all the programmes are implemented, dealing with different people, in charge of the programmes that would be beneficial to cricket, to ensure the effective implementations of the various programs which the Board will come up with,” said Ramkessoon, when asked about his new role with the TTCB.
