Rain hampers TT U16

Wednesday, November 27 2013

HEAVY AUSTRALIAN showers transformed the scenic Bradman Oval in Bowral, Australia, into a duck pond to stall the progress of the Trinidad and Tobago Invitational Under-16 cricketers against India on Monday night in the Bradman Foundation Tri-Nation One-Day Series.

After losing to Australia in the 50-over match the night before, Trinidad and Tobago won the toss and elected to bat. They reached 83 runs for two wickets in 24 overs when the heavens opened, drawing the curtains on the game, with both teams getting one point each.

Trinidad and Tobago will hope to better Australia in their next fixture and will have a chance against India in their final preliminary match. Victories in both matches will ensure a place in Friday’s Final.

In related news, the TT team got some good news yesterday as they will be guests of the South Australia Cricket Association at the Adelaide Oval next Monday. They will have a chance to watch the Australian Test team train on the eve of the Second Ashes Test next week. The TT boys will return to Trinidad on December 6.
