Records tumble in Southern Cricket League

By GEORGE BAPTISTE Saturday, March 29 2014

TWO teams broke records in the same match as action continued in the General Earth Movers Limited-sponsored Southern Sports Sunday Cricket T20 League.

After All Apaches rattled up the highest T20 score in the league’s nine year history of 234 for seven wickets, Anil Seerajh powered his way to a superb 113 to lead S J Rapids to 236 for two and victory with two overs to spare at the Rees Road, Barrackpore (All Apaches), ground. But while there were no centuries in the Champion Division on Sunday last, five were struck including Seerajh’s. There were one in Division Two by Sailzash Sankar (Gandhi United) 100 not out, and three others in the Under- 21 Division including two in the same game, Saddiq Ambrally (All Apaches) 104 and Jonathan Boysie (La Romain) 167 and Brandon Ramlal (Rochard Road United) 114.
