THE 2006 Scalextric Rally Car Champion of Champions and the Open Modified Car competitions, sponsored by Trac Mac (distributors of Castrol Motor Oil), will hold centre stage today, from 1 pm, at the Trincity Mall, Trincity.

New Mitsubishi Evolution 7 Lancers will be provided for all the entrants in the Champion of Champions category while drivers of all ages can compete in the Open Modified Car competition, but they must use their own cars.

The 2006 season drove off at the Long Circular Mall, St James last weekend, with Kevin Lee-A-Ping claiming victory in the Rally Car Under-15 Championships.

The Third Form student of Fatima College tallied 78.2 points, ahead of seven-year-old Reshad Deane, a Standard One student of Spring Village Hindu School, with 73.1 points; 11-year-old Kathrine Lee-A-Ping, a Form One student of St Joseph Convent, with 67.4 points; and debutant Isabel Alleyne, a Standard Two student of St Bernadette’s Prep School, with 51.5 points.

David Deane of St Joseph won the 15-75 age group with 79.9 points, followed by Sayyad Khan, a student of School of Business and Computer Sciences (SBCS) with 79.6; Jenelle Joseph, a law student, with 77.9; and Rawson Samuel, a Uni-Lever quality analyst, with 64.1.
