TOBAGO-BRED Crown Point looked very good on the gallops and is one for the notebook for that revived 2400 metres handicap race on Arima Race Club Day 37 at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, on Saturday.

The six-year-old son of Freshly Squeezed/Bands O’Gold, third last time out over 1800 metres, was sent for a 1000 metres spin and returned in the good time of one minute 3.3 seconds.

Only on Sunday morning, the Glenn Mendez-trained chestnut was seen pacing over the same distance, completing his work in a handy one minute 08.4 seconds.

Windjammer who also holds the engagement looked very sharp in a 600 metres gallop completed in 38.3 seconds, while Super Grey finished his work over the same trip in 41.2 seconds.

Oui That Lucky who will also be taking on the mile and a half journey galloped over 1400 metres in a handy one minute 39.2 seconds on Sunday morning.

Royal Oak Derby heroine Pride ‘N’ Glory was seen out on Sunday and again on Monday doing pace work.

The Jamaican-bred filly went over 400 metres on Sunday morning and returned in 28.3 seconds and on Monday she galloped 1000 metres in a handy one minute 08.0 seconds.

Meanwhile, weights for the 2400 metres marathon on the turf course was issued by handicappers Wayne Shockness and Michael Singh yesterday.

And Windjammer will tote topweight of 56.5 kilos giving Crown Point one kilo and Seal The Deal (44.5 kilos) at the foot of the handicap 12 kilos.

Should the race be shifted to the main track, however, Crown Point will get only .5 of a kilo.
