AT LEAST 26,000 persons need accreditation for the Fifth Summit of the Americas and this has created a logistical nightmare for summit organisers. This was the word yesterday from Trade and Industry Minister Mariano Browne, head of the inter-ministerial committee which has been overseeing preparations for the summit, on the eve of the opening ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Port-of-Spain tomorrow at 5 pm. Sources yesterday claimed that the numbers of persons attending this summit could be the largest since the first Summit of the Americas in 1994. The minister’s statement came as hundreds of persons continued to flock to the accreditation centre at the Old Fire Station in Port-of- Spain to get accreditation.
